Raider territory he could deal with, aside from the dead bodies they were so fond of hanging up all over the place. At the very least they warned him when there were Raiders, and it was actually kind of nice. However, nothing  really warns you about a Feral Ghoul until you hear that tell-tale rasp and they're about to rip your face off. It was for this reason that Ethan hated Ghouls, and he even had problems talking to the non-feral ones. God he nearly pissed himself when he met Gob, even though the man was nice enough. Just the flaking skin and the faint smell of corpses was enough to make him relive any encounter with a Feral on
